| Whilst Roth had finished off his whisky. He noticed the Duchess of Cholet made her entrance. He put his drink down and wandered over to where Chimera was standing.
"Good tidings, your Excellency Chimera", Roth said. I hope you are enjoying the conference so far, Milady.
He bows to Chimera, and smiles, "it is wonderful to meet you."
Roth introduces himself to the elegant lady. I am Rothar Rose, from Ayr County Scotland. Roth straightens his kilt, and polite asks if Chimera would like a drink? |

| Ghostwriter stood quietly as new faces nearby started speaking together, recognising a few names as they introduced themselves to each other. She sipped her tea listening, glad to be stood to the edge of the large room, wondering when things would get started and if maybe she might go in search of a quieter sitting room or library. |

| Welcome lady ghostwriter weishui I hope your excellency is enjoying herself, seeing that she was all alone. Roth decided to come over and introduce himself. Rothar Rose - Chancellor of Ayr Capital. Delighted to meet you. He sat down, straightened his kilt. Such a big gathering, where are you from Milady, Ghostwriter Weishui? Roth sat, sipping his whiskey. Smiling at her. |

| Bientôt, donc. Where do you plan on landing on the continent my Lady? will the winds bring you along the coasts of Brittany at some point?
She bows her head to the Scot who's come to intoduce himself.
My lord Rothar, I am delighted to make your aquaintance. Two diplomats from Ayr within my reach, now, Scotland has never seemed so close. She smiles. I am pleased to meet you both.
If I would like a drink? Well, I have barely finished mine, but I couldn't decline the offer. As a breton representative, it seems I have a reputation to uphold. I need to get started slowly, though, otherwise I fear I won't last the evening.
But as soon as she has her glass in hand, he's gone already, probably eager to be as welcoming as possible and to meet every single person -woman?- in the room. New smile. He seems of the busy kind. |

| Ghostwriter was drawn from her thoughts by a voice and looking round saw a man approach. She smiled politely and curtsied before replying.
I was just watching the gathering crowd Sir, she said quietly. And drinking a refreshing cup of tea procured for me by milord Seamus, she said indicating the young man stood beside her smiling.
I am from Holywell Sir, she said from where she stood by the sideboard smiling.

| Deep in his thoughts, young Seamus is a bit surprised to hear his name spoken. Blinking himself out of his reverie, he understands that the lady to whom he had been speaking earlier has mentioned him in conversation with another guest. At this, he faces the gentleman in question and nods politely. Recalling the glass of single malt in his hand, he takes a goodly drink of it, and continues watching the room at large. Directly a thought occurs to him, and he turns to Lady Ghostwriter once more, murmuring Beg pardon, lass. Perhaps ye'd like tae take a turn about the grounds, havin' mentioned yer discomfort in crowds? I am surre cousin Caiti an' Baldar will find you if yer needed in th' meeting. I could escort yerself, or I can bring one or two of the castle guards if ye'd rather that. It be still a civilized hour, sae none weel question, if tha' concerns you. |

| Ghost smiled as Seamus spoke and setting her cup down onto the sideboard bowed her head in acceptance.
A turn around the grounds would be pleasant Seamus, she said quietly. I don't think guards will be needed, and yes if I am needed someone will come looking for me. |

| Roth decides to sit down with Lady Chimera I feel beat all this running around through the crowds.
Please here is a glass for you Milady.
Just lucky Marie left the entire whisky decanter here beside us.
Roth pours Chimera a glass of whiskey and then pours a glass to himself. "bottoms up", he lets out a hearty laugh sipping his whiskey. But it would be for miss of me, if I didn't get you to try Scotland's finest drink. He smiles, straightens his kilt.
So your excellency please tell us of this Brittany you speak of? Do you have many towns, and produce resources for much trades? |

| Subject: Re: World Conference Sun Nov 28, 2010 7:38 am | |
| Ah, you're back at us now. Sure us ladies can use some company.
She gives the chancellor a smile as she sips the whiskey. Note: bring some Lambig for the Scots to try, see how they take it in.
Brittany, Brittany. Well, now is not the time for an ode to my homeland, I think. She winks. It's... green... hilly... independant and proud. Stubborn sometimes, but that's how people like it. There are nine towns, some inland, some around the coast open on the Atlantic ocean or turned towards England. We're lucky to have a lot more inhabitants in these towns that you do in yours here accross the Channel. Town administration is therefore less complicated, and we can spare resources for trade. |

| Seamus quietly drains the last of his drink, sets the goblet on the sideboard, and offers his arm politely to Lady Ghostwriter, murmuring Weel then. Would ye be after a turrn about the gardens, or a walk down the lane by the paddock tae see th' horses, or what, Lady? Oh, an' if ye dinnae mind, I should run an' retrieve something quickly, before we gae outdoors. Tis yer ain choice, lass. Who knows, mayhaps Caiti an Baldar might sneak out an' come round as well. |

| A walk into the gardens would be nice, thank you Sir, Ghostwriter said taking Seamus' proffered arm. Please feel free to retrieve whatever it is you need, she said intrigued.
Looking into the room Ghost was unsure if she would see Caitlin or Baldar while things were so busy, thinking they were not the sneaking off type, unlike it seemed herself, trying to avoid the large throng that occupied this room. |

| Satisfied that things were going well with the conference and that the leaders and diplomats were getting to know one another, Cait was off in search of Baldar. She saw him with his cousin Natale. Approaching the two she slipped her arm through her husband's and nodded to her cousin. I am sorry to interrupt but I need to speak to Baldar about an idea that is forming in my mind and I want to discuss it with him before it slips away. If you will kindly excuse us for a moment, Natale. I will return him to you. She smiled softly and made sure that the gentleman had everything he wanted before whisking her husband to a quiet corner to talk.
As she walked with Baldar she spoke of her idea, quietly whispering. She ended with a quick smile and kissed his cheek. My beloved, you know I'm no good at treaty writing but in these times of international trade and long dangerous sea voyages, I believe it is something that the nations of the world could agree upon. Caitilin looked up at her husband and searched his face. What do you think, my love? There could be a standard set for all nations and there would be no question as to what price a pirate would pay for molesting a legitimate trading vessel. She was excited about the idea but would leave the formalities in Baldar's hands. | |

| As they prepare to depart, Seamus says to Lady Ghostwriter, If you will, I shall take you tae the entrance tae the gardens, then run quick tae the armoury, then come back tae ye. It should be but a moment, then yer escape.
((RP between Lady Ghost and Seamus will move to the Castle Gardens)) |

| After speaking with his wife on a certain topic, he kisses her on the cheek, and turns to his guests
Baldar asks for the attention of the guests,
Your Highness, Princes, Dukes, Lords and Ladies, I am pleased to see so many representatives of the countries of Europe.
As said before the object of this meeting is to make people meet, and discuss various topics. One that I would like to bring to discussion is sea-lanes and sea trading. He looks at the people in the room; we all have problems with brigands and criminals that cause havoc to land trade and our cities, which at times makes it hard to travel.
With sea-lanes, opening trade can now be quicker, but we have the first reports of piracy, how can we best protect our shipping.
I would like to propose the creation of an international Judicial Law against piracy, where all the countries that will sign to this document will guarantee that no pirate ship will be given a safe port, or assistance, that the captain and crew of that pirate ship is condemned by that countries laws for criminal acts, or as part of this treaty a specific law is put to hang pirates in whatever country they are caught in.
I ask all the nobles present to put down any ideas that they think would work and while hear we can come up with a document.
Baldar bows to the guests and taking another goblet of wine takes a sip waiting for ideas and answers.

| Rothar, stands up, with clear voice says:
I have several questions I'd like to ask the conference quests.
1. Who is going to be send out on such missions to fight against the marauders or pirates?
2. How will it be determine who gets the help? Who doesn't? (Must be some kind of guidelines who qualifies for such help etc?)
3. How will we keep these ship lanes safe with larger distances to cover?
4. If a captain messages another captain for direct assistance, and says their been pursued by enemy pirate ship. Who gives chase? 4b. Would they be told to wait for more reinforcements to arrive on the scene.
5. Who will police these waters, Foreign Countries, or Shipping Companies or Wealthy Privateer or some kind of Naval Group? |

| Cait stepped forward. All good questions, my Lord Rothar. This is why we bring this up to the those assembled here. I would like to see them all addressed. I personally would like to have this gathering to be the author of a document that can be agreed on and can be enforceable, signed and sealed. She paused a moment and took a sip from a goblet. Some kingdoms have delved deeply into sea faring and others are yet new to it, struggling to even build ports. To truly unite our world each of us must feel safe and secure when traveling on the open sea. Each of us need to take an active roll in keeping that sea safe. | |

| Val1 entered the conference room after some time spent changing clothes and refrshing himself. He saw a crowd of people some with French accents, some with Italian accents and of course the different hosts.
Good afternoon, my name is Val1, Grand Ambassadeur royal representing the French court. As you can imagine some of you may know the reason we are here but I am myself a bit ignorant at the moment.
He just waited and was listenning some conversations around. |

| Baldar overheard the French Chancellors question,
My Lord Val, welcome to the conference, I will explain the reason for this conference.
The Diplomatic Conference is a way for all countries to meet so as to begin today in this specially prepared room for England and its Counties to get to know and speak of possible ideas and new friendships for trade and peace between all our neighbouring nations. This is by far the biggest sign of the desire for cooperation between all countries involved and it is certainly the largest and innovative attempt in economic and diplomatic cooperation in the history of the Kingdoms.. I am pleased to see here the representatives of many countries, of the Kingdoms, and this shows that there is a wanting of peace and trade, and most of all friendship between nations.
Also, I would like your opinion as with others of the possibility of an international Judicial treaty against pirates.

| Natale… Sorry, the Viscount of Rabat, was going to kiss her hand when Caitlin kissed his cheek to welcome him. - Madam… My dear cousin. Nice to meet you. They dranked… - Sasto ! And thank you for all. He adds: - If Baldar can move mountains, I am sure that a however charming woman as you is his source of inspiration. Your couple illuminates this place and I am sure that we thank you all for the energy which you invest in this project. He murmurs to her : - I still don’t know all our family, if you indeed want to present us... Then, of a smile he leash her speak again to his cousin of husband.
The time to drink just a little and to listen to the various interventions. In the words of the Regent he tilts then respectfully the leader and releases a light: - Your Highness
He left all these persons come from everywhere of the Known World to speak between them. He allowed then to speak. - Coming from the South of France, I can advance without any doubt, that the shortest road between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean crosses by Narbonne, Toulouse, the Garonne river. We can form a League to secure this road which will take always more importance by the time. Conscious that he was only himself in all this story, he preferred to keep silent and to let these people take back their affairs. Maybe that it would interest them who knows? He glanced at the French Chancellor and at red-haired Breton Chancellor.
( Sorry for the time of answer and for the faults)

| Bry, just a bit occupied with a letter he had just become, put it in his pocket. He looked at the scene, seeing some new ambassadors he had not seen so far.
He listened to the ambassador who had just arrived, and waited for him to be free. In a short moment, Bry approached him and curtsied respectfully.
Your Excellency, I am thrilled to meeting you. I am Brylastar, Chancellor of Champagne. Your presence here honours us. |

From the beginning, Melian was installed, silently. She arrived late, so she did not introduce herself, not wanting to interrupt the discussion.
When the question of ports and piracy had been tackled, she took notes on his notebook but said nothing, Bearn having no port city. In the mountains, you think ...
A treaty was then submitted them. She took a copy, thanked His Excellency Baldar with a nod and a smile, then began to read it carefully. |
