The Guest Sitting Room

*I wandered into the room, seeing a bar, i helped myself to a Tankard of Ale, and went to find a comfy seat somewhere.. one near the fire looked promising.. and so it was*

The castle had not seen so much activity since the wedding of Lord_Stryke and his bride Lady Esther. Bustling down the hall with her keys in hand, Marie opened many of the rooms that been closed off for months. To the young maid who trotted next to her, she commented. Jah, be praised for Master Baldar, he really has breathed life into this place. Maybe this family will stop roaming the countryside if the countryside comes here. She giggled she quickened her pace so that the girl virtually ran after.

As she checked the rooms, Marie entered coming upon Lord Cornishbluebird. The two servants curtsied but only Marie spoke.

My Lord is there anything that I can get for you? I can have a plate of fruit and cheese and some cold mutton brought to you. The cook has just now finished with the baking and there is warm bread and fresh churned butter. She noted his full tankard and smiled. Lord Baldar and Lady Caitilin would like you to make yourself at home here and if there is anything you desire, please let it be know to any of the staff. We are here to serve.

*I turned at the sound of the maid addressing me*

"Thank you, i will remember that"

Baldar trying to find Cait in all this movement inthe castle goes past the living room and sees Cornish making himself at home with the Bar.

Marie other guests have arrived can you see that everything is fine for them.

Baldar smiled knowing that Marie was enjoying herself by being busy

Lord Cornish welcome, grabbing a tankard he fills one for himself and Cornish, make your self at home my friend, ask for more drink if the bar runs dry
he drinks his bear, and excusing himself, he goes in search of Cait

Marie bowed her head to Lord Baldar. Aye your Excellency, I will see to it. All of your guest's chambers are prepared and fires are burning in each room. The kitchen staff has made sure there is plenty to eat and drink. She curtsied and then turned to leave. Turning back she came close and whispered.

The Lady Caitilin has retired to your chambers for a short rest with your son Alex. She bade me to tell you, she awaits you there when you can see her.

With that said, Marie curtsied again and smiled at the master of the house. She hurried out of the room to see to her duties.

Thanks to a page, I was able to reach the sitting room, were I hoped to meet more of the guests. The room was impressively decorated, it seemed the Lord of the De Stryke castle had an excellent taste when it comes to furniture. Then, I spotted a man, who was already there, drinking a glass of ale

-"Pleased to meet you, Milord" I said, shaking the man's hand "My name is Draco Alivi, royal ambassador of Castilla and Leon"

Rested, Cait joined the visitors in the sitting room. Noting a new comer she approached. Overhearing his introduction to Baldar, Cait bowed her head and offered a drink. My Lord Draco Alivi, you are most welcome to our home. It is a great pleasure to have you here. She sipped from her own glass and continued.

After taking a rest, with the haunted wing still fresh in his mind, still thinking about everything that happened to him the other night, Darrexus walks into the guest sitting room where he finally finds himself in company of the living.
He approaches the part of the room where three people have already made themselves comfortable.
Hehe, am I in time for the warm-up or the epilogue of a party? Really, looks like the voyages kept me in bed more than I expected. He makes a short laugh. Greetings my Lady, then he turns to the two fellows, Darrexus Orlovic, Serbian consul... he says shaking the hands of everyone and takes a seat.
Nice to meet you gentlemen. Well, it's nice to take a break once in a while, he says as he turns to the maid who was finishing arranging a plate, and there's nothing like wine that freshens one's spirit up before getting to work, I say. Would you mind getting me some? ^_^

-"Honoured to meet you, Milady Caitilin" I said, after bowing and accepting the drink "Fortunately, our journey was safe, no incidents at all, excepting the seasickness, but that was a minor problem" I said, smiling and giving a sip to my drink "Delicious, I have to say. What is this?"

Then, the Serbian Consul, Darrexus, entered to the room and salutated everyone there

-"Pleased to meet you, Lord Darrexus" I replied, before smiling "Draco Alivi, ambassador from Castilla and Leon. And this, is just a warm-up. The party comes after work is done, if not, it can be a little...hard to work, then"

*I turn and get up to meet others that have entered the room*

"It is a pleasure to meet you Lord draco, i am glad your trip was a safe one"

*I take the ladies hand and kiss the back of it*

"It is good to see you again my Lady"

*I look around the surroundings*

"You have a fine home indeed"

Darrexus makes a hearty laugh before answering:
Of course! We wouldn't like to take our hangovers to work now would we. Glad I made it in time then.
Then he spots a fellow drinking a full chalice of apple juice, then approaching and meeting everyone. Thinks to himself - well, it's either too much finger food or he had a lot of fun last night.. or both. He smiles and shakes his hand.
Likewise an honor Lord Rimmster.

A brief moment of silence passes as Darrexus makes a big smile

He stands up Well, I haven't been to the conference room yet, I think I'll go check it out. If you'll excuse me..., he says as he makes his way to the conference rooms.

Irish stepped into the sitting room and spotted her cousin sitting there amongst a group of men.Walking over Irish leaned over and placed a friendly kiss on her cousins cheek, Good evening Gentlemen,I trust you are all enjoying yourselves. Cornish, I was wondering,since Ice couldn't make the trip here with me would you be kind enough to provide me with a bit of ,erm, arm and eye candy? Besides I believe there is a meeting going on in the conference room with ideas and information we could both take back home to Wiltshire.

* after a relaxing scrub down, and a change of attire, Paddy takes to the sitting room to see who is here

Irish heard her name and turned to see who was talking to her. A smile crept across her face when she saw who it was, Paddy, what a pleasant surprise. I t is wonderful to see you here as well. I hope that Snowy and the family are well.
Ice? Well no, he did not accompany me this time. He is at home with the family. He is none the less very well thank you.

After exiting the diplomatic conference room and after a quick visit to his room, Darrexus heads back to the sitting room and approaches the Genoese Ambassador, presenting a flask:

himself and lines up a few extra glasses when he notices new faces in the room as he turns to greet Lady Irish and Lord Paddy.
Oh.. forgive my ignorance. Pleased to meet you... Then he repeats the thing he probably said a hundred times during his visit: Darrexus Orlovic, Serbian Consul to England.
He then addresses everyone, lifting his flask a bit.
I'd like to offer you this drink, I have to warn you though, it burns like a dragon if you know what I mean.

Baldar takes a glass of slijivovica, and saluting Lord Darrexus, and the other guests, drinks it in one,

as the liquid enteres his body, burning everything it touches,

wow, Thats some drink.
he extends his arm and holding the glass, to Lord Darrexus, Let me taste that again

Cait stood quietly at Baldar's side as he drank the fiery liquid. She could see him begin to flush with the heat of the drink. My Lord, are you alright? She giggled softly as she sipped at her wine and her eye widened when he asked for more.

Grinning at Darrexus Cait asks.... May I taste it please?

Darrexus makes a short laugh and fills a few more glasses, emptying the contents of the small flask. He hands two glasses to lady Caitilin and lord Baldar.
It's a plum distillate, hence the name as "sljiva" means "plum" in Serbian, similar with other Slavic languages. Don't let the plum fool you though, he smiles, it's dry, hot and very strong.
A maid is passing by with some apple juice, she fills a few glasses by his instructions.
You might want to water it down. He lifts his glass: Cheers! He drinks it in one and sips some juice afterwords.

Don Luciano, asks one of the castle servents to bring the bottle that he had brought from Genova,

My Lord Baldar, Lady Cait, Lord Darrexus, pleas try some Grappa, a local drink which I think you will find interesting, it is clear,as water as you can see, but it is water with a punch to it,

He begins to pour in the glasses, " Alla Salute vostre signorie" " Cheers to your health Mi Lord and Ladies"
